Anxiety and Insomnia |
 |
|
Difficulty
falling asleep can be directly related to anxiety. During stressful
times -- such as the loss of a loved one, a change in job status or a
serious illness -- the numbers of those who suffer from sleep
deficiency can be even greater. Ironically, this is the time when a
good night's sleep is even more important to facilitate recovery and
healing. Yet, no matter how tired the person may be, their mind will
not let them relax. 1001 thoughts, fears, and concerns will nag away
at them, robbing them of precious hours of sleep. Sometimes anxiety
symptoms don't show up until our 20s or 30s, and they are often
linked to specific life circumstances. Identifying and treating the
root causes of the anxiety may be the only way to rid oneself of the
insomnia that has followed.
